Practice Description

Mr. Balfour's practice focuses on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and securities transactions. He has acted in many public offerings and private placements for both issuers and underwriters, and his mergers and acquisitions experience includes both contested and friendly takeover bids and private transactions. For many years, Mr. Balfour has acted in transactions for or with government-owned corporations, including privatizations. He has frequently drafted and advised on the drafting of legislation, regulations and policies of the federal and provincial governments.
