Practice Description
Lyndon Barnes is a senior partner in the Litigation Department at Osler, Hoskin && Harcourt LLP. He has extensive experience in all types of commercial disputes; class actions; shareholder and corporate disputes; banking and insolvency matters. He has been involved in a number of significant restructurings under the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act including acting for lenders in Olympia & York; lenders in restructuring Algoma Steel; counsel to Bramalea Inc. and to Cadillac Fairview Inc. in their successful restructurings. Mr. Barnes has also acted as counsel to the Trustee in the Confederation Treasury Services Limited bankruptcy and as counsel to the Province of Ontario in the restructuring of Skydome Corporation, also acted for The T. Eaton Company in a successful restructuring in 1996 and it is recent liquidation plan of arrangement. Is currently involved in several major class actions including the recent attempt to enjoin the British American Tobacco transaction with Imasco Limited. |
