Practice Description

Mr. Betts has practised exclusively in the area of commercial law and has focused on the areas of securities, franchising and distribution agreements, development of commercial real estate and syndications of real estate in Canada. He has acted for a number of Asian families and businesses in Canada. As Head of the Asian Practice Group, he is actively engaged on behalf of a number of Canadian corporations and individuals doing business in Asia, including Hong Kong, the People's Republic of China, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia and India. Mr. Betts is currently involved in joint ventures and direct investments, distribution and licensing arrangements in a number of centres throughout Asia.
