Practice Description
Mr. Russell's practice focuses on competition law, marketing/advertising law and commercial litigation. He advises and represents clients and prepares legal opinions with respect to inquiries and charges under the Competition Act, such as conspiracy, bid-rigging, misleading advertising and price maintenance. He also negotiates prohibition orders and other alternative case resolution arrangements with the Bureau of Competition Policy. Currently, Mr. Russell is acting as counsel to the Director of Investigation and Research in an inquiry into the merger of CP Containers and Cast North America. In advertising/marketing area, he advises clients with respect to advertising, packaging and labelling, tariffs and trade marks, and represents clients with such bodies as Consumer and Corporate Affairs, the Health Protection Branch and the Liquor License Board. Mr. Russell's commercial litigation practice involves commercial disputes, shareholders' remedies, directors' and officers' liability, commercial torts, civil actions, securities law, contracts, and other matters. |
