Many Federated Press board appointments are the result of input from existing editors-in-chief and editorial board members in particular. Surveys are regularly sent out  to editorial board members and other leading professionals, inviting them to put forward one or more candidates. The surveys always garner an impressive response; and equally striking is the degree of reflection demonstrated in the comments and suggestions offered.

Systematic surveys of our board members and subscribers help us to recruit the leading practitioners in each discipline. They also help us to form a network which ensures the acquisition of genuine and original contributions to facilitate practical problem-solving in each field.

The Federated Press editorial department regularly receives inquiries from practitioners interested in becoming members of an editorial board. A rigorous review process is conducted with regards to prospective candidates for board membership. This includes evaluation of published submissions to Federated Press journals, as well as involvement in other publications, conferences and professional activities. In most cases, the appointment of new board members is made only after consultation with existing members, who are asked to review a short list of candidates. Their comments and suggestions are taken into account before a final invitation is made.
